Sankalp Dhaka summit to focus entrepreneurial ecosystem

An international conference styled ‘Sankalp Dhaka Summit’ will be held on Sunday to share knowledge on entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh.

Over 40 experts and 200 professionals from development ecosystem and impact community are expected to participate at the daylong knowledge sharing at a city hotel, said a press release on Saturday.

Intellecap and Aavishkaar Group are jointly organising the summit styled ‘Catalysing Bangladesh’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem’ to discuss, define and drive the entrepreneurial success at 12 interactive sessions.

The discussion will focus on green practices in apparel manufacturing, climate resilient agriculture, renewable energy, waste free cities, health and nutrition, gender and livelihoods.

Intellecap managing director Jayesh Bhatia said that Sankalp Dhaka will discuss three key elements of building a vibrant enterprises ecosystem-capital, technology and capacities.

“Drawing inspiration from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call to global investors to join the Smart Bangladesh 2041 journey, Intellicap will bring together its global expertise to work with stakeholders to spur the entrepreneurial spirit to make measurable contribution towards driving a sustainable economic and inclusive agenda for Bangladesh,” he said.

Startup Bangladesh managing director Sami Ahmed said the public venture capital agency is supporting an inclusive innovation ecosystem of investors, government and academia focusing on sustainable innovation and the circular economy.

“Sankalp Dhaka helps us to connect with global investors who can provide financial and strategic support to home grown startups. This will enable these startups to scale up and grow, contributing to the development of the overall startup ecosystem in the country," he said.

Circular Apparel Innovation Factory (CAIF) Director Venkat Kotamaraju said that RMG in Bangladesh already plays a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s economy to attain future growth.

“Along with the leading voices from across the RMG value chain, we aim to inform and shape a cohesive pathway to accelerate the green transition and to mainstream circular economy which will further elevate RMG Bangladesh’s position in the global value chain,”
