PM turned Bangladesh into a role model for development: Law Minister

Bangladesh has become a role model for development across the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said on Saturday.

"What Sheikh Hasina has done, no one did in the history of Bangladesh and upgraded the country's status to developing one," the minister said at an event organised on the occasion of Central Council 2023 of Bangladesh Deed Writers' Association (BDWA) at the Engineers Institution in the capital as a chief guest.

Referring to different mega projects, including Metrorail, Padma Bridge, Karnaphuli Tunnel, four-lane and eight-lane roads, the minister said Bangladesh will be transformed into a developed country by 2041 if Sheikh Hasina and her party remain in power.

He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has introduced the politics of development by shunning the politics of killing and exploitation performed by BNP and HM Ershad.

"The governments of BNP and HM Ershad patronised the killers and gave a dividend of killing. They exploited the people of the country. Sheikh Hasina stopped the trend of their politics and introduced the politics of development in Bangladesh," the minister added.

Md Nur Alam Bhuiyan presided over the function while Md Nazrul Islam Babu, MP from Narayanganj-2 Constituency and Habibur Rahman Habib, MP from Sylhet-3 and the leaders of the central committee of the association spoke, among others.

Earlier in the morning, he joined the inaugural function of the 13th Orientation Course for the newly appointed assistant judges at the Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI).
