He said, “Riding on motorbikes, some 35 to 40 persons with arms, including Rashed, Alamin, Alif, Alinur, Masud, Sharif, led by acting president of Rupganj upazila Chhatra League, took position in front of my house at Mitabo due to political vengeance. They also started using abusive language. At one stage, they fired five to six round empty bullets and created panic among the local people. The incident was captured by CCTV camera.”

Abu Daud Molla said, “Such a heinous incident was committed in a preplanned way because I do politics for the Awami League. I demand exemplary punishment of the wrongdoers.”

Hosneara Begum said, “Abu Daud Molla could save his life as he was present in Hatabo Bazar area that time. The evildoers committed this incident in a bid to kill  Abu Daud Molla. Now, we are feeling insecure.”

When contacted, Acting President of Rupganj Upazila Chhatra League Tanzin Ahmed Khan Riaz said, “We were going to stage a showdown with a procession in a program of Hatabo. We halted in front of the house of Abu Daud Molla and immediately left the place. There were no shootings, attacks, vandalism and looting.
