Bangladeshi consumer goods manufacturers have received huge response from international buyers by participating in leading global consumer goods show, Ambiente 2023, held in Frankfurt, Germany from February 3 to 7.
Some 47 Bangladeshi companies took part at the trade show to showcase their products. Among the companies, a total of 20 firms participated through Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) while rest of 37 firms participated in their own arrangement.
A huge number of buyers came to Ambiente from nearly 160 countries, seeking inspiration and looking to procure products for their new collections.
Md Saiful Islam, Minister (Commercial), Bangladesh Embassy in Germany, said EPB provided subsidised stalls to increase the exports of handicrafts, decorative items and kitchen accessories by allowing small and medium exporters to exhibit at the world's largest consumer fair.
Various types of handicrafts made from water hyacinth, paddy straw and jute have created a lot of interest among the buyers of the fair, he added.
Bangladeshi firms, including Paragon Ceramic, Shinepukur, Peoples Ceramic, Monno Ceramic, San Trade, RFL Plastics participated and represented Bangladesh with their products.
Ambiente is leading international trade fair and the world's number one in products associated with dining, cooking, household items, interior design, gifts, jewelry and fashion accessories.
After India, the Bangladesh participation was the biggest from South Asia with a wide range of products.
Bangladesh has been participating in Ambiente for over three decades now and a number of industries have developed from this fair such as jute and handicrafts.
