The Health Ministry on Thursday announced the date of the upcoming combined Medical and Dental Colleges admission tests for the academic session 2015-16.
The combined Medical and Dental College admission test will be held on October 2 for all public and private medical study institutions in the country.
The hour-long MCQ exam would be held for entrance to all public and private medical and dental colleges.
Some 3,162 seats in 29 public medical colleges for the MBBS course and the private ones have 5,325 seats.
On the other hand, nine public dental colleges have 532 seats for the BDS course and 24 private dental colleges have 1,280 seats.
Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Dr Deen Muhammad Nurul Haque told reporters that the ministry has not yet set a date for releasing application forms and have not yet set the minimum requirements for the examination.
“We’ll meet again very shortly and then decide the other matters,” the director told reporters.
In the previous exams, GPA 8 in SSC and HSC examinations combined was the prerequisite for anyone to take the medical and dental admission test.
However, a drop in performance in HSC and equivalent exams has prompted the Dhaka University to relax its entrance requirements.
The minimum marks required to pass the medical MCQ test is 40.
