The Law Ministry has published the updated land registration manual incorporating all the existing laws, rules and regulations on land registration. For the first time, the Ministry has also published the manual in Bangla alongside English, BSS reports.
Law Minister Anisul Huq unveiled the registration manual at a ceremony in a city hotel today, said law ministry press release.
Presided over by the Legislative Secretary Shahidul Haque, the function was also addressed by the Law and Justice Division Secretary ASSM Jahirul Haque. Inspector General of Registration (IGR) Khan M Abdul Mannan attended it as the guest of honor while Registration Service Association General Secretary Mafuzur Rahman Khan delivered the inaugural speech.
The Law Minister said the registration department officials will greatly benefit from the manual as it accumulates registration related laws, rules and regulations in one place.
"If they follow the manual during their service delivery, the sufferings of the common people would be reduced a lot," he added.
Anisul also mentioned the concerned officials would be provided training so they have a thorough understanding about the content of the manual and also become inspired to use it properly.
Registration Manual was first published in English in 1928. The first official 'Bangladesh Registration Manual' came out in 1983. Since then 30 years have gone by and there had been a significant change in laws, rules and regulations on land registration.
However, keeping pace with this change registration manual could not be updated. So, registration officials, deed writers, concerned lawyers and land buyers and sellers had no registration book to rely on. Realizing this Law Ministry updated registration manual and got it published.
