BNP leader Aman denied bail in 44 cases

A Dhaka court on Wednesday rejected BNP leader Amanullah Aman’s bail petitions in 44 cases filed over the violence conducted during the 20-party alliance’s anti-government programmes.


Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Mollah turned down the pleas this afternoon.


BNP Joint Secretary General Aman's lawyer Sanaullah Mia filed the bail petitions on August 5 and 6.


Of the 44 cases, 11 were filed with Darusalam police station, nine with Mohammadpur, five with Paltan, four with Wari, three each with Motijheel, Jatrabari, Mugda, and one each with Kafrul, Sher-e-Bangla, Airport, Shah Ali and Mirpur police stations.


The BNP leader was denied bail in 56 cases on August 3.
