Bangladesh Bank hopes that demand and supply of foreign currencies will witness a balanced condition by next January-February, according to a media report.

"Media reports on suspension of LCs are not true," said spokesperson of the central bank Abul Kalam Azad in a briefing on Monday.

He said "LCs worth $1,263 million were opened on the first 10 days of November while LCs stood $4,743 million in October."

Banks are opening LCs considering their foreign currencies stock, he added.
