The three-time BPL champions Bashundhara Kings completed their players’ registrations for both senior men’s and women’s teams ahead of the next season 2022-23.

The club formed a 28-member men’s team with five foreigners and a 27-member women’s team with high expectations in domestic and international spheres.

The country’s top outfit took out a colorful procession on their way to the Bangladesh Football Federation to complete the registration formalities on Saturday.

The Kings men’s team head coach Oscar Bruzon said that their prime goal this year would be to set up a strong position in the domestic and international spheres.

“We want to win all the domestic titles. We won a hat-trick BPL title last time. This year, we want to keep our winning streak. We have solid players and a strong bench,” Bruzon told the reporters on this day.

The Kings women’s team are also on the verge of history as they are going to compete in the upcoming Bangladesh Women’s Football League with an aim of winning the third consecutive title. The team clinched their previous two titles in 2020 and 2021.

The former Rahamatganj MFS coach Syed Golam Jilani has taken the charges of Kings Women’s team. He confidently said that their lone target was to defend the title.

“Bashundhara Kings women’s team are one of the strongest teams in the country. We are confident to retain the title,” Jilani said.

However, the next season of 2022-23 will begin with the 12th Independence Cup on November 13. The Kings, who were put in Group B, will start their campaign taking on Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club on November 14.

Bashundhara Kings women’s team will start their campaign in the 5th Bangladesh Women’s Football League on November 15.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd also completed their players’ registration formalities. Sheikh Jamal formed a 32-member team including five foreigners while Mohammedan formed a 40-member team including four foreigners for the upcoming season.
