Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ambassador Li Jiming on Tuesday said that China is committed to promoting a new type of international relations, deepening and expanding global partnerships based on equality, openness, and cooperation, and broadening the convergence of interests with other countries.
“China also strives to create new opportunities for the world with its own development and to contribute its share to building an open global economy that delivers greater benefits to all peoples,” he said while speaking at an event organised marking the 56th Founding Anniversary Programme of Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist–Leninist) at the Engineer's Institute Auditorium.
The Chinese envoy further said China has always been committed to its foreign policy goals of upholding world peace and promoting common development. “The world has once again reached a crossroads in history, and its future course will be decided by all the world's peoples.”
China adheres to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in pursuing friendship and cooperation with other countries, he added.
Turning to recently concluded 20th National Congress of Communist Party of China (CPC), the Ambassador said President Xi Jinping, who enjoys popular confidence among the party members as well as the people, has been re-elected as General Secretary of the Party, to which, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina felicitated him by stating “Your re-election is undoubtedly a fitting recognition of the trust and confidence reposed on you for your able leadership, achievements, and vision by the people of China and the CPC” in her congratulatory letter.
In his working report to the congress, Li Jiming said General Secretary Xi Jinping explained why the CPC could lead Chinese people to prosperity by following Marxism and how the CPC will overcome the present global challenges and succeed to bring peace and development to the world.
It is the solemn historical responsibility of today’s Chinese Communists to continue opening new chapters of Marxism, he said.
The CPC is deeply aware that its power is granted by the people. The country is its people, and the people are the country. As the CPC has led the people in fighting to establish and develop the People’s Republic, it has really been fighting for their support.
