Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a person along with 40 gold bars which were meant for smuggling.

The arrestee is identified as Shawkat Ali, 50, hailing from the area. 

He was captured from Jadavpur village of the upazila.

Lt Col Shahin Azad, commander of Moheshpur-Khalishpur camp of BGB 58 Battalion, confirmed the arrest and recovery of gold bars weighing 4.668kg.

BGB handed over the arrestee to Moheshpur Police Station after filing a case in this regard.
