Sacrificial animal slaughtering only at designated places

People have been urged not to slaughter their sacrificial animals in front of their houses and lanes and by-lanes in city corporation and municipality areas of the country during Eid-ul-Azha.

The call came from an inter-ministerial meeting ahead of Eid-ul-Azha over sacrificial waste management, setting up of cattle markets and slaughtering sacrificial animals, said acting secretary of Local Government Division Abdul Malek, UNB reports.

After the meeting chaired by himself, Malek said people should slaughter their animals at designated places, especially on playgrounds and open spaces.

The city corporations and municipalities across the country will designate places before the Eid-ul-Azaha for slaughtering sacrificial animals, the official said adding that directives have been given in this regard.

Malek said no cattle market will be allowed to be set up alongside highways.
