The 36th founding anniversary of Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP) was celebrated through holding a function on Sunday.
To mark the day, the organisaiton arranged a discussion at its Mirpur headquarters in the capital. Cake was also cut to celebrate the occasion.
Md. Azher Ali Talukder, Chairman of the DORP presided over the function while Md. Haider Ali Khan, Director (Finance & Admin) of the organization conducted it.
Speaking at the function, A.H.M. Nouman, Founder & CEO of the DORP remembered contribution of its officials and employees for development of the non-government development organization.
DORP vice president Dr Razia Begum, advisory council members Md Nurul Amin, Dr Abu Jamil Foysal, Prof Dr Hamidul Haque, journalists and high officials of different associate organisaitons and officials and employees of the DORP were present in the function.
Since 1987, the organization has been conducting various sustainable development programs on social, economic and environmental issues to improve the quality of life of the underprivileged poor people of Bangladesh, especially women, men and backward communities, as well as the government.
Development Organisation of the Rural Poor-DORP a national Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has been working in the development field for more than two decade in Bangladesh.
