Faridpur-2  constituency has been declared vacant following the demise of Deputy Leader of the Parliament and MP Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury.

The Parliament Secretariat issued a notification on Tuesday to this end.

According to the notification, the constituency of Faridpur-2 fell vacant following the death of  Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, a member of Bangladesh National Parliament and Deputy Leader of the 11th National Parliament, on September 11.

Mentionable, Awami League MP Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury died at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on last Sunday after suffering from prolonged illness.
