The High Court has formed a board to operate the embattled multi-level marketing (MLM) company Destiny 2000.
Retired High Court Justice Mainul Islam Chowdhury is the head of the board, while company lawyer Barrister Margub Kabir, Hasan Sahed Ferdous, FCA Fakhruddin Ahmed, and Ikbal Jaman are members.
Meanwhile, the High Court allowed the holding of the AGM of the Destiny 2000.
In 2012, the government moved to take action against Destiny-2000 Ltd for running illegal banking and misappropriating public money in the name of MLM business.
The Destiny Group allegedly swindled nearly TK 4,000 crore, which was collected from people across the country.
A Dhaka court on May 12 jailed 46 people, including Destiny managing director Rafiqul Amin, in a case for embezzling public funds and laundering them abroad.
