The fire that broke out at a polythene factory in the capital's Chawkbazar area on Monday afternoon has been brought under control after two hours.

The fire breaks out at 12:00pm in the area.

"Being informed, ten firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 2:20pm," said Khalida Yasmin, duty officer of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.

No casualty has been reported yet.
