A discussion was held on the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day in Barishal University this afternoon.

At the initiative of the Barishal University Teachers' Association (BUTA) this discussion meeting was held at Kirtankhola Auditorium of the University at 5 PM.

Barishal University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Sadequl Arefin was present as the chief guest in the meeting, Special guest was the treasurer Professor Dr.  Mohammad Badruzzaman Bhuiyan and Dean of Faculty of Arts and Humanities Professor Dr.  Md. Muhsin Uddin.

In the speech of the chief guest, the vice chancellor said, "The main purpose of Bangabandhu's murder was not physical murder, it was ideological. We all have to work together to build the country and the nation, inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu."

President of Barishal University Teachers Association Dr. Md. Abdul Kaium presided over the meeting and spoke among others Provost of Bangabandhu Hall Md. Arif Hosen, Provost of Shere-Bangla Hall Abu Jafor Mia, Md. Khorshed Alam Proctor of the university, Tanvir Kaisar, Assistant Professor of English Department, Camelia Khan, Assistant Professor of Law Department  and Sirajis Sadiq, Assistant Professor of Public Administration Department .

 The meeting anchored by the general secretary of the teachers' association, Mohammad Abdul Baten Chowdhury.
