RAB seizes 24 kg hemp during raid on trawler in Chandpur

Within a few hours of arresting a woman with 10 kg of hemp, RAB members arrested two more drug dealers with 24 kg of hemp from Haziganj of Chandpur district.

The two arrestees are Mokhlesh Khalifa (50), son of deceased Sekandar of Sharonkathi village of Nesharabad (Swarupkathi) police station under Pirojpur district and Md Idris Howladar (40), son of deceased Mokhlesh Howladar of Zukirkanda village of Uzirpur Model Police Station of Barisal district.

At midnight on Monday (August 9), a team of RAB-11, CPC-2 conducted a raid on a trawler in Dakatiya river of Haziganj municipality's Toragarh village and arrested them.

On Tuesday (August 9) at noon, RAB filed a case under Narcotics Control Act against Mokhlesh Khalifa and Idris Howlader at Haziganj police station. Earlier on the same day (Monday) in the evening, Haziganj police arrested a woman named Shiuli with 10 kg of hemp from Balakhal area of ​​Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway.

According to the sources of RAB, during the initial interrogation the arrested drug dealers admitted that they had been trading various types of drugs including hemp in different parts of the country including Chandpur for a long time.

Hazjiganj police station sub-inspector Md Misbah said the trawler was under police custody.
