The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul observed the 73rdBirth Anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the valiant freedom fighter on Friday (Aug 5).
The expatriate Bangladeshis living in the Republic of Korea and the Embassy officials took part in the event.
A special prayer was offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal including the Father of the Nation, his martyred family members and all the valiant freedom fighters as well as the socio-economic development of the country.
A documentary on the life and work of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal was also screened during the programme. Then, the discussants highlighted the glorious life of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal and his contributions to the political, cultural and sports arena of Bangladesh.
In his speech, Ambassador Delwar Hossain paid rich tribute to the memory of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal. He mentioned about the contribution of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal in the War of Liberation who also inspired the youths to take part in the War of Liberation.
Ambassador Hossain touched upon his contribution to the development of sports and culture which remains a source of inspiration for the people of Bangladesh, particularly for the young generation. He called upon all to draw inspiration from the glorious life of the valiant freedom fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal and contributes to building ‘Sonar Bangla’- as dreamt by our Father of the Nation.
