CU blockade lifted, authority declared exemplary punishment to the violators

The indefinite blockade by a group of students at Chattogram University (CU) has been lifted following an assurance from the concern authority.   

"We have decided to stop the movement after getting an assurance from Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel. He will discuss the matter with central leaders and hopefully dedicated and qualified leaders will get berths in the committee,” said Sakhawat Hossain, one of the leaders of the protesting group.

Earlier, the leaders of the protesting faction opened the main gate of the university near zero point of the campus around 12 pm lifting their blockade.

The CU shuttle train service also came to a halt due to the alleged abduction of three staffers, including the loco master. Railway authorities have refused to operate the shuttle trains raising safety concerns. 
In addition, Sherin Akter, Vice Chancellor of the CU declared that action will be taken against those who vandalized the rooms, kidnapped the driver of the shuttle train.
Shareen Akhtar said these things in a press conference organized at the conference room of the university today. 
She also declared that situation of the CU has become normal as the blockade has been lifted. “Shuttle trains and buses are running today. Classes and examinations will also be held from tomorrow (August 3),” the Vice Chancellor added.

“We will form an inquiry committee over the incident. As per the committee notification, action will be taken against the aggressors,” the CU Vice-Chancellor added.

CU Proctor Rabuil Hasan Bhuiyan said, "We have discussed with the agitating students and they have already withdrawn the blockade, action will be been taken against the violators’.
