Thai envoy visited Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple at Sabujbag

Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka Makawadee Sumitmor attended the inauguration of Dharmarajika Prayer Hall Gate at the Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple at Sabujbag in the city on Tuesday.

Ven. Buddhapriya Mahather, President of Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha, Gaus Uddin Khan, Acting President of Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI), and Prof. Bikiran Prasad Barua, Secretary-General of Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha also attended the inaugural event.

After the ceremony, the Thai envoy along with the distinguished guests planted a Terminalia ivorensis tree (Thai name Hoo Kra Jong) in front of the Dharmarajika Orphanage premise as a symbol of friendship in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Bangladesh.

It may be mentioned that the Dharmarajika prayer hall gate was constructed with the support from Brahmanda Pratap Barua, CEO of Falguni Trade International.
