A suspended policeman was held as hijacker by a group of people in Savar on Monday.
Md Atiur Rahman Russel, Sub-Inspector of Savar Police Station, rescued him from the spot following a call via national emergency service 999.
Later, the problem was resolved through an arbitration in the police station, he said.
Hailing from Dhamrai, Monir was doing job as police member in Sylhet before suspension.
