Seminar on Human Rights in Debate held at Barishal University

Barishal University Debating Society (BUDS)  organised a seminar and discussion on 'Human Rights in Reception and Debate'.

The discussion meeting was held at the Jibanananda Das Conference Hall of the University on Monday.  Nishat Sultana, Deputy Director (Advocacy Justice for Children) of World Vision Bangladesh, author and human rights activist, was present as the main discussant in the seminar.

Barishal University Debating Society Moderator and Assistant Professor of English Department Tanvir Kaisar and Moderator Assistant Professor of Management department Sakhawat Hossain were also present.

Nishat Sultana said “Children can do many things if they want.  If they are given such a chance, they can run a state at will. Proper guidelines and environment should be created so that they can develop their talent. If they are brought under proper management, many things are possible by them.”

She also sheds light on the actions of human rights debaters.

Barishal University Debating Society President Rafiqul Islam Yamin, General Secretary Aminul Islam Ashiq and Vice President (Administration) Md Sabbir Hossain and other members of Barishal University Debating Society were also present. The programme was moderated by BUDS Publicity Secretary Masum Mahmud.
