President Abdul Hamid is expected to pay a state visit to Vietnam from August 9 to 12 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang.
The visit is expected to further deepen the cordial and cooperative relations between the two countries and strengthen the ties of friendship and trust between Bangladesh and the Southeast Asian country, said a foreign ministry release here today, reports BSS.
During the visit, the President is expected to hold discussions with his counterpart covering the entire gamut of Bangladesh-Vietnam relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern.
Among the bilateral issues, exchange of visits, connectivity, trade and investment, cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture etc will be given special emphasis, according to the release.
The Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Secretary General of Communist Party, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City of Viet Nam and a business delegation of Vietnam are also expected to meet the President of Bangladesh during the visit.
