Delegation Members of IORA Council of Senior Officers visited Buddhist Temples in Ramu

The Delegation Members of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Council of Senior Officers (CSO) visited two Buddhist Templs in Ramu (Bodhiratna Buddhist Temple and Rangkut Bonasram Buddha Bihar) on Friday (July 29) after the closing session of the 12th Biannual Meeting of the IORA-CSO. 

The authorities of the Temples welcomed the delegation members and briefed them on the history of the Rangkut Bonasram Buddha Bihar which was established in 268 BC.

The delegation members highly appreciated the rich Buddhist heritage of Bangladesh and expressed satisfaction over their visit. They also appreciated the long history of peaceful coexistence of people of diverse faiths in Bangladesh.

The Foreign Secretary Ambassdor Masud Bin Momen and Secretary (Maritime Affairs Unit) Rear Admiral (Retd.) Md. Khorshed Alam accompanied the delegation members of 21 countries to the temples.
