Golam Sarwar becomes law & justice secretary

Md Golam Sarwar has been appointed secretary of the law and justice division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

He was performing duties as acting secretary for law and justice division since August 8, 2019. He is the senior most officer in the division now.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification on Wednesday saying Md Golam Sarwar has been appointed secretary of the law and justice division in consultation with the Supreme Court.

He took over as Abu Saleh Sheikh Mohammad Zahirul Haque relinquished the post on August 7, 2019.

Md Golam Sarwar entered judiciary by qualifying the 10th BCS examinations. He joined as assistant judge in Dhaka on December 11, 1991.  He was promoted as district and sessions judge in 2015 and discharged judicial functions in various places including Dhaka, Chattogram, Feni, Noakhali and Kishoreganj.

He was joint secretary in the law ministry from December 2015 to August 7, 2019.
