Five people, including a woman, were killed and three others injured as a bus rammed into a three-wheeler, locally known as Mahindra, in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal on Wednesday.

The accident took place at around 12:30 pm adjacent to the fire service office on the Barisal-Patuakhali highway.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet but locals said that all the victims were passengers of the Mahindra.

Confirming the news, Bakerganj Police Station OC Alauddin Milan said that the body of the deceased was recovered from the spot and kept in the upazila health complex.

The injured were first taken to Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, he said.
