The voluntary social organisation Raktadan Samity has distributed relief among the flood victims of Katiadi, Nikli and Karimganj upazilas in Kishoreganj to prevent humanitarian catastrophe under the slogan ‘Build connection, stop pandemic, stop disaster’.
Volunteers of the organisation on Wednesday visited flood-hit Lahund in Kargaon union of Katiadi upazila, Dhiruail in Dampara union of Nikli upazila and Darigangatia, Nayahati village in Gundhar union of Karimganj upazila and distributed relief among 200 families.
Relief materials included rice, pulses, potatoes, salt, onions and food saline.
Founder and coordinator of the organisation Badrul Alam Nayeem, member of the organisation’s coordinating board and filmmaker Jisan Azad, homeopathic doctor Mahbubur Rahman, student leader Hasan Tareq Bappi, social worker Ashrafizur Rahman Hridoy, Shahriar Hossain Ripon, Anisuzzaman Mamun, Oli Ullah Shamim, Jonaid Ahmad Hasib, Neon Alam, among others, were present at the relief distribution.
Raktadan Samity founder and coordinator Badrul Alam Naeem said, “In the second phase, we have delivered one week’s food to 200 families with the help of members, well-wishers and expatriates. We will continue stand by the flood-hit people until the ongoing situation improves.”
