Bashundhara Group distributed relief again among the flood-affected people in Sunamganj and Sylhet on Sunday.
As per the directive of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, officials of the country’s largest business conglomerate are continuing to stand by flood victims.
Under the supervision of Major Ashik Iqbal, Sergeant Mustafizur Rahman received the relief around 3:00pm.
The army officials said they will send the relief items to the flood-affected people in the remote areas.
Masum Helal, district correspondent of Bangladesh Pratidin, a Bengali newspaper of Bashundhara Group, handed over the relief on behalf of Bashundhara Group.
Meanwhile, Bashundhara Group gave 4,000 packets of relief to the flood-affected people in eight upazilas of Sylhet on the same day.
The largest corporate house handed over the relief items to the district police authorities to be given to the flood victims.
Mohammed Farid Uddin, superintendent of police in Sylhet, received the relief from Bangladesh Pratidin staff correspondent Shah Didar Alam Chowdhury.
Additional Superintendents of Police Md Lutfor Rahman and Shahriar bin Saleh, among others, were present.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Mohammed Farid Uddin hailed Bashundhara Group for its humanitarian gesture.
“Bashundhara Group deserves appreciation for the way it is standing by the helpless people during the flood and critical juncture,” he said.
If other corporate houses follow the example of Bashundhara Group, the helpless people will get rid of their problems, he opined.
