Padma Bridge South police have arrested the convict, who escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail two years ago.

Abu Bakar was arrested on Wednesday (June 22nd) from Naodoba Minakandi under Shariatpur Padma Bridge South police station.

Abu Bakkar Siddique is the son of late Kesher Ali of Chondipur area of ​​Shyamnagar police station in Satkhira.

It is learned that Abu Bakkar Siddique, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, escaped from Kashimpur Central Jail-2 in Gazipur in 2020. Earlier, a court sentenced him to death in a murder case. He was later sentenced to life imprisonment on appeal. He has been in jail since 2012.

Shariatpur Padma Bridge South Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Firoz Al Mamun told the media that he was walking suspiciously in the Naodoba Minakandi crossroads area under Shariatpur Padma Bridge South Police Station. He was later arrested and interrogated, it was learned that he was a convicted accused. There is also a case against him for fleeing.

He also said that Abu Bakkar was sent to Shariatpur court after his arrest.
