Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) wants the government to extend support to construct jewellery factories across the country.
Leaders of the BAJUS made the demand addressing a view exchange meeting in Meherpur district on Friday.
Meherpur unit President Kishor Patra presided over the view exchange meeting.
Ruhul Amin Russell, Advisor of BAJUS and Business Editor of Daily Bangladesh Pratidin, Ripnul Hasan, BAJUS Executive Member and Member Secretary of Standing Committee on Law and Membership, Rakibul Islam Chowdhury, Member of Standing Committee on District Monitoring, attended the meeting as the special guests.
Mominul Islam, general secretary of Meherpur unit of BAJUS, delivered welcome address.
Dilip Kumar Roy said, “There are about 30-40 lakh gold traders and artisans across the country. We will bring them under one umbrella. Jewellers will get international standard ornaments from factories and legitimate stakeholders. This arrangement has been made by BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir. Small and medium ornament factories will be established in divisional and district cities.”
Toten Joa, President of Chuadanga and Sushant Patra, General Secretary of Gangni, also spoke on the occasion.
