A private university student died after jumping off a university building on Green Road of the capital on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Imam Hossain (23), a third-year student of Computer Science and Engineering of University of Asia Pacific (UAP).

Imam used to live in a mess with other students.

University authorities suspect it was a case of suicide as the student was seen, in CCTV footage, jumping off the sixth floor of the nine-storey building at 8:00am.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
