Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has materialised the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that he couldn’t materialise.

He was speaking at a discussion titled “Historic May 17 Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming: Restoration of the spirit of the great Liberation War, transition to democracy and prosperous Bangladesh” as chief guest held at Shiekh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium of National Museum in the capital on Monday.

Forest and Environment Sub-committee of Bangladesh Awami League organized the discussion on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s historic Homecoming Day with AL Advisory Council Member and Chairman of the sub-committee Dr Khandokar Bazlul Haque in the chair.

Claiming that BNP is spreading propaganda in Bangladesh about the economic downturn in Sri Lanka, Hasan Mahmud, also joint secretary of AL said that BNP has already gone through the same situation that the ruling party of Sri Lanka is now going through.

“The example of Sri Lanka is of no use in Bangladesh. We have built Padma Bridge with our own money. So don’t spread propaganda and find a way to flee the country. We haven't taken to the field yet. If mischievous attempts are made to create chaos, we will take to the field,” he said.
