Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem said that those who want to make Bangladesh like Sri Lanka are nothing but traitors.
"They (those traitors) do not believe in the independence and sovereignty of this country. They are under the possession of Pakistani ghost as Pakistan stays in their hearts," he said.
About fragile situation of democracy in BNP, he said this party itself is in deep crisis.
"Democracy within their party has become dependent on others day by day due to lack of practice and research. It (BNP) has repeatedly failed in the democratic process," he added.
"We have to move forward with new challenges in the next elections. The Awami League needs to be made more organized, modern and strong. Therefore, the leaders of the united Awami League and its allied organizations will have to work for the party and bring the people-friendly leader Sheikh Hasina to power for the fifth time in the next elections," he said.
President of Naria Municipality Awami League Sahidul Islam Sardar presided over the meeting while General Secretary Abu Jafar Sheikh conducted it.
District Awami League President Chabedur Rahman Khoka Sikder, Naria Upazila Chairman AKM Ismail Haque, Naria Municipality Mayor Abul Kalam Azad, Upazila Awami League Acting President Bir Muktijoddha Fazlul Haque Mal, General Secretary Master Hasanuzzaman Khokon and Vice President Badsha Sheikh also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
