The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police arrested an alleged member of Hizb ut-Tahrir from Madhukhali in Faridpur district on Tuesday.
The arrestee is Yameen Khan, 33, son of Atahar Khan of 2 No. Habili Gopalpur at Kotwali of the district.
A mobile phone set, two SIM cards and three leaflets of the banned militant outfit were seized from him.
Yameen, who passed Honours and Master in English from a college, joined in Hizb ut-Tahrir in 2009, said the police officer.
On March 18 in the running year, the militant outfit held a virtual meeting, he said, adding that the arrested man shared the meeting to others from his facebook ID.
The ‘militant’ through his social media account used to inspire people to like, comment and share anti-state posts, the spokesperson of the ATU said.
He added that the next legal of action against the arrestee was underway.
