A Dhaka court has ordered to put BNP leader Ishraq Hossain in jail, who was arrested from Motijheel area of the capital today (Wednesday) while distributing leaflets in protest of rising commodity prices.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tamanna Farah issued the order this afternoon. He was produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court on an arrest warrant in a Motijheel police station case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh issued an arrest warrant against him on August 16, 2021 for not surrendering before court following a High Court order. The case is currently under investigation. The investigation report of the case is scheduled to be submitted on May 28.
