2 Bangladeshi brothers awarded jail sentence in India for illegal stay

A special court in India has awarded jail sentence to two Bangladeshi brothers to four years for illegally living there using fake documents.
The Indian chief judicial magistrate's (custom) court sentenced one of the youths Mohammad Iqbal to four years of prison and imposed a fine of Rs 6,500, according to a media report.
Mohammad Farooq, another brother, was also awarded four years jail sentence and a fine of Rs 6,000 was imposed on him.
The duo – residents of Chattogram in Bangladesh, were residing in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh using fake documents when they were arrested in November 2020, said a statement.
