At least three people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in capital’s Rupnagar and Baitul Mukarram areas on Friday.
In Rupnagar, two people were killed and two others injured in a three-way collision involving two trucks and a pick-up van at Birulia Beribadh area at 3:00am.
Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police outpost, said the bodies were kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsies.
Beside, a cleaner named Farooq Miah, 56, of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) was killed after being hit by a bus of ‘Swadesh Paribahan’.
The bus hit him when he was sweeping the street at the south gate of the mosque at 8:45, leaving him injured.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hopital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead, said Mohsin Habib, sub-inspector of Paltan Police Station.
