Narayanganj Emon murder: 4 get death, 2 life term

Four people were sentenced to death and two others to life imprisonment for killing a school boy in Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj in 2013.

Sabina Yasmin, additional district and session judge, delivered the verdict on Sunday noon in presence of the two accused.

Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Jasmin Ahmed confirmed the matter to media.

The death row convict are Siraj, 45, son of Abdus Samad, Ahmmad Ali, 55, Nahid, 21, son of Aman Ullah, Sentu Miah, 25 while life life awardees are Salma, 42, wife of Sirajul Islam Siraj and Husna, 47, wife of Ahmmed.

The court also acquitted Montu Miah,22,  Aysha, 40, wife of Aman Ullah, Mamun, 24, son of Sirajul Islam Siraj and Khorshed Alam, 18, son of Ahmmed as the allegation brought against them could not be proved.

According to case statement, the convicts chopped Emon Hossain, 13, a six grader of Kanainagar High School in Fatullah and son of Ismail Hossain alias Ramzan Miah of Char Radhanagar area, into nine pieces and dumped the pieces in the field on June 13, 2013.

The nine pieces of Emon’s body were later recovered from a field near the house on June 22.
