The deceased was identified as Sumi Akhter, 28, wife of Shahadat Hossain of Shovonkardi village in Matlab municipality area.

Locals spotted the body of Sumi in a sesbania field and informed police around 5:30pm.

Later, a team of Chandpur River Police, led by sub-inspector Mosharraf Hossain went to the spot and recovered the body.
