Two people, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at a shop in the capital’s Rampura early Thursday, died at a hospital on Sunday night.
Shop owner Nader Ali, 50, with 43 percent burns, and Siddique 60, with 74 percent burns, died at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery while undergoing treatment.
Earlier in the day, Md Helal Uddin, 50, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Resident surgeon of the SHNIBPS Dr SM Ayub Hossain confirmed the matter.
Locals said that five people were injured as a cylinder blasted at Rasel Enterprise, a bhangari shop (old iron and other material are bought and sold), at Boubazar at Chowdhurypara in Rampura around 1:45am.
Being informed, two units of firefighters doused the flames at 2:12am.
