Sheikh Hasina wipes out North Bengal’s ‘Monga’: Parash

Jubo League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash on Friday said that 'Monga' in the northern region of Bangladesh is now completely wiped out due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s development initiative.

“No previous government has shown any interest to develop the northern part of Bangladesh and change their fate due to an unknown reason. Only Sheikh Hasina’s government thinks over the people of the northern part. None think of improving their happiness and ensuring quality of life. The word ‘Monga’ is now extinct in the northern part of Bangladesh only because of Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

Parash came up with the remark while distributing warm clothes among the people at Banani Model High School playground in the capital.

Some 1,000 blankets were distributed at the programme while many blankets were handed over to Jubo League leaders of nine districts to distribute it among the cold-hit areas people under Rangpur division.

Jubo League leaders including Rafiqul Islam, Abul Kalam M Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury, Biswas Motiur Rahman Badsha, Rafiqul Alam Joarder Saikat, Kazi M Mazharul Islam, Sohel Parvez, Rezaul Kabir, Joydeb Nandee,  Shamsul Alam Anik, Monowarul Islam Masud, Azizur Rahman Sarkar, Nabiruzzaman Babu, Delwar Shahajada, Mahfuzar Rahman Uzzal, and Raihan Sarkar Rezvi, among others, were present.
