Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pick-up van in Koyrapara area in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as the van driver Sohel Mia, 30, son of Abdur Rajjaq of Tangail Sadar upazila and Sujan, 26, son of Mofij Mia of Charadra village in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur.
Upon receiving the news, the fire service and police went to the spot and rescued the injured and sent them to Dhanbari Upazila Health Complex. But they died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, he said.
