Bangladesh-India Friendship Association on Tuesday greeted the Indian government and its people on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day of India on January 26.

On behalf of the Bangladesh-India Friendship Association, it’s President Md Rashidul Alam and General Secretary Sree Narayan Saha Moni congratulated Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of the country.

In a statement, they also said India is the true friend of Bangladesh and such friendship was proved following the help of Indian government during the libration war of Bangladesh in 1971 led by the Father of The Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

On the occasion of the 73rd Indian Republic Day, the association expected the Bangladesh and India’s peace, friendship and economic development led by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

At first, the Republic Day of India was celebrated on January 26, 1950. India’s constitution came into effect on Republic Day, January 26, 1950.
