Two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as CNG auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Sadeq of Teknaf Nayapara and its passenger Mahfuza Begum of Jaliapara in the upazila.

The pick-up van heading toward Teknaf from Cox's Bazar collided with the Cox's Bazar-bound CNG auto-rickshaw at 10am in Mitha Panirchhara area on ​​Marine Drive Road, leading two people died on the spot and two others injured, Hafizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station, said.

However, the names and addresses of the injured could not be ascertained immediately. Locals rescued them and sent to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex.
