Millier optimistic about stronger Bangladesh-US relations

Outgoing US Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Millier has expressed the optimism for an even stronger partnership between the two countries in the next fifty years and beyond.

He made the remark during his farewell call on with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at the State Guesthouse Padma on Wednesday.

"We discussed the strong long-standing US-Bangladesh partnership, the importance of human rights and the rule of law, and enhancing cooperation on development, economic growth and security and global challenges including the Rohingya refugee crisis and climate change," Miller said in the verified US Embassy facebook page.

The US envoy posted a photo of his farewell call on  with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at the State Guesthouse Padma in the city.

Miller said the 2022 is the 50th anniversary of US-Bangladesh relations. “I have great optimism for an even stronger partnership in the next fifty years and beyond,” he added.
