Bashundhara Group stands by cold-hit people in Noagaon, Chuadanga

Bashundhara Group, the country’s business conglomerate, continued to stand by cold-hit people in various places of Noagaon and Chuadanga districts on Saturday.

In Raninagar upazila of Noagaon, 300 people received blankets from Bashundhara Group at a programme held at Kujail Bazar in Kashimpur Union.

Upazila Parishad chairman and freedom fighter Abdur Rouf attended the programme as the chief guest while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sushanta Kumar Mahato joined the programme as the special guest. Shahin Akand, officer-in-charge of Raninagar Police Station, was also present.

Aged 105, Chayaron Bewa came to receive a blanket. When she received a blanket, her happiness knew no bound.

“I have been suffering a lot due to pinching cold. This blanket means a lot to me. May Allah bless the Bashundhara Group,” she said.

In Badalgachhi upazila, 300 unprivileged people including residents of Chakaramnath housing project received blankets.

After receiving blankets, Pori and Abdur Razzak said they have been living in the housing project for 14 years. A total of 30 families live there. They live in extreme poverty.

“We are happy to get those blankets which will be of great help amid pinching cold. We are grateful to the Bashundhara Group owner,” they said.

The same day, hundreds of people receive blankets at programme at Badalgachhi Govt Pilot High School field.

In Damurhuda Upazila of Chuadanga, a large number of children of Samsul Ulum Hafezia Madrasha and Orphanage and widows of the area received blankets.

Blankets were sent to the houses of 30 widows.

Earlier, Bashundhara Group had distributed blankets in many districts including Noagaon and Chuadanga.
