National Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) has recommended mobile court operation, hospital capacity building, timely diagnosis and strict quarantine to curb any rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

NTAC at its 50th meeting on Friday made various suggestions which include proper implementation of the decisions already taken by the government in this regard.

Expressing deep concern over possibility of deterioration in Covid situation, it underscored need for tough steps to compel people to wear facemasks, wash hands and maintain social distance.

NTAC also recommended a ban on any crowd in the name of political rally, wedding ceremony, fair, and religious congregation.

It also suggested the authorities of the educational institutions to ensure implementation of health regulations on the respective campuses, monitor infection cases therein and take timely steps.

Bringing all students under vaccination, entry screening at all points, quarantine and isolation have to be intensified.

NTAC suggested for increasing the hospital capacity with adequate ICU beds and oxygen supply to tackle surge in Covid-19 cases.
