The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday asked the Directorate of Secondary Education (DSHE) to submit probe reports by February over 184 allegations transferred by the anti-graft body.
ACC came up with the deadline after a review meeting between the ACC secretary and DSHE Director General Prof Syed Golam Faruk at the commission’s headquarters in Dhaka.
The commission sent 42 letters to DSHE seeking probe reports on some allegations while it also sent 142 more letters requesting DSHE for taking measures over the allegations.
Finally, a review meeting was held at ACC, DSHE informed that some allegations are still under investigation. Later, the ACC asked the DSHE to submit pending reports regarding the allegations by February. Otherwise, the ACC will take appropriate legal action.
ACC secretary said allegations of corruption should be taken seriously and take necessary measures to investigate the allegations through mutual cooperation between ACC and DSHE.
He also said the DSHE was asked to submit the probe report by February 2022.
Addressing at the meeting, DSHE DG Prof Syed Golam Faruk also promised to continue his efforts to prevent corruption, ACC officials said.
