President starts dialogue with Jatiya Party over reconstitution of EC

President Abdul Hamid started dialogue with an 8-member Jatiya Party delegation about reconstitution of election commission. The Meeting started around 4:00 pm at Bangabhaban in the capital on Monday.

The 8 member delegation includes Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, senior Co Chairman Annisul Islam Mahmud Chowdhury, Co Chairman ABM Rubul Amin Howlader, secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Co Chairmen Kazi Firoj Rashid, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Salma Islam and prrsidium member Moshiur Rahman Ranga.

The head of the state will hold talks gradually with other political parties registered with the Election Commission, ahead of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad polls. 

The president is also scheduled to talk with JaSaD on Tuesday.

The President is likely to hold dialogue with more than one political party in a day and Bangabhaban is working on it.

Earlier, a series of dialogues were held with the political parties prior to the ninth, 10th and 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) parliamentary elections. 

In line with the Constitution, the President has the authority to appoint a Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and more than four Election Commissioners (ECs).
